 The Wood Stove

The four younger kids in our family and our mom were cleaning the place where we put the stuff that we use for fires by the wood stove. 





 We use paper towel rolls for burning and stuffed some dryer lint in it because dryer lint burns really well. 


 We stuff it in and then we put some newspaper in on the sides so the dryer lint doesn't fall out.  We do a lot of work to get ready for winter and fall also.  Sometimes we have so much work to do and we don't always get it done.


 Sometimes we don't stuff  all the paper towel roles or have to get wood sometimes.



  I love the fire because it makes me feel happy and old fashioned.

The Lasagna

By Lizzy age 5 Lasagna is yummy and all you do to make it is use sauce, noodles, cottage cheese, cheese and egg.  Lucy and I made lasagnas on Saturday because we had a lot of extra spaghetti sauce to use up. It's super fun to make it with my big sister. I like to wear an apron when I cook because it's really comfy and I like the bows in the back. We are on chairs because there were not stools.  We are too short for the counter. First, there is sauce in the bottom of the pan.  Then we put noodles on the sauce.  We don't have to cook the noodles because they get cooked inside when the lasagna is baked. The cheese is very yummy when you put it in the lasagna.  In the cheese mix there is cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, egg, and parsley.  The parsley is very yummy when you put it in the lasagna.  We grew it out front and we dried it by hanging it on the wall between the dining room and family room. We put sauce over the cheese mix.

The Cross-Stitch

By Lizzy age 5 I love cross-stitching.  It's really fun.   I learned how to cross-stitch from my momma.  Lucy was using the sewing machine so I couldn't use it.  My mom said that I could learn how to cross-stitch instead of using the sewing machine. We went into the living room of our house and my mom taught me how to do it. We just make an "x" with the string.  We put one line each box like this: /.  We counted the boxes on the pattern and put in the number of lines we needed. Then, we make lines like this: \ all the way back. This makes the "x" in each box. I'm making a flower.  It's light pink and dark pink with yellow in the middle. It's like coloring on fabric.

Dog Sled

By Lucy age 8             We were driving up to go dog sledding and we brought our own wooden dog sled.             When we got there we hooked up the team.  Then we started going. It was a smooth ride and it was super fun.  We went down a steep hill and we couldn't stop.   We almost hit into someone else but we stopped before we hit into them but I still had fun.
